The toughest job on earth and yet the most rewarding job on earth is being a mother. Just being a woman in this day and age is nothing short of becoming a magician. We have so many things to juggle: work, friends, kids, family, and the list goes on. There’s so much to what we do that we often times forget to carve out time for us…yeah..remember “Me Time”….what ever happened to that?!
I want to encourage you to do just that. It is important to provide your body with proper fuel and the opportunity to release stress. I know at times we ladies feel guilty for taking time away from the folks who count on us, but in order to keep up with the demands of life, you need to be in peak condition.
So I offer you this tip that helped me in my search for the elusive “me time”.
Set a timer for scheduled “me time” breaks.
This seems simple but it really does make a difference. Think about it…at work, you find yourself saying “just one more email and I’ll eat lunch”. Then that one email turns into 50 and you’re rushing to slam a slice of pizza down your throat.
That’s no way to live. So instead set a timer for projects. When that timer goes off, get up and go do something healthy and energetic for you. Eat a healthy lunch with friends and chat during your break. Set a timer to leave your home office and go for a walk. Call a friend, take a power nap, do your nails…whatever you want to do with your time…DO IT!
So I ask you…what could you do with 20 minutes of you time? Tell me in the comments section below for your chance to win a TBK t-shirt
